About

Noah Bassman (they/them) is an artist and urbanist whose work explores ideas of place, community, and urban life. In their painting practice, they construct an imagined world based on their beliefs in access to the waterfront, sustainable transportation, and a more natural urban form. Through public art, Noah Bassman creates nature-inspired interventions promoting walkability and bikeability. Growing up in Jackson Heights, Queens, they have always taken inspiration from the city. Their work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions at Vital Artist Studio, Studio 41 and Gallery 77, and in group exhibitions at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, the A+D Museum in Los Angeles, and Culture Lab LIC. They've partnered with the Providence Streets Coalition, the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning and LINKNYC to create public artworks in Providence and New York City. They attained a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2023.
